'Best No. 9 in the world' – Agent describes Osimhen deal as historic move for Turkish football
Published: July 31, 2025
Italian agent George Gardi has lauded Galatasaray's bold move to secure the return of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, hailing the transfer as the biggest in Turkish football history.
Osimhen, who impressed during his loan spell at Galatasaray last season, is on the verge of a permanent switch from Napoli after the Turkish giants triggered his €75 million release clause.
According to reports, the deal will see Galatasaray pay €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million to be paid in installments over the next year.
In quotes relayed by habersarikirmizi, Gardi described Osimhen as ‘the best number 9 in the world’ and praised the club for sealing what he believes is a landmark signing.
“It's one of the biggest transfers in Turkish football history. We got the best number 9 in the world, but the negotiations took a long time. Victor just wanted to come here,” Gardi stated.
Gardi also emphasized that Osimhen’s signing underscores Galatasaray’s lofty ambitions on both the domestic and European stages.
"The Osimhen transfer demonstrates Galatasaray's ambitions. Their aim is to become one of the best clubs in Europe and the Champions League."
Osimhen arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday evening and is expected to undergo medical examinations before the deal is finalized.
As the summer transfer window continues to unfold, the 26-year-old Nigerian forward will be eager to settle his future and focus on delivering goals for Galatasaray in the new campaign.
