Official: Former Flying Eagles centre-back joins MK Dons from Hibernian

Former Nigeria U20 international Marvin Ekpiteta has completed a permanent move to English League Two club MK Dons from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian.

Marvin Ekpiteta has embarked on a new chapter in his career, leaving Hibernian two years before his contract was due to expire.

The 29-year-old leaves Hibernian after one season, during which he made seventeen appearances across all competitions and scored once in a 5-0 victory over Elgin City.

His game time was limited in the second half of last season due to fitness issues.

He arrives at MK Dons with over 300 senior appearances and a wealth of experience across the Scottish Premiership and five divisions in England.

A product of the Oxford United academy, the ex- Flying Eagles defender spent four seasons at Blackpool, making 143 appearances, scoring 12 goals, and helping them win promotion to the Championship in the 2020-2021 season.

He played 40 times in the second tier the following season, earning Blackpool's Player of the Season award.

Ekpiteta also featured in the League Two before joining Hibernian on a three-year contract in July 2024.

Earlier in his career, he enjoyed success with Leyton Orient, securing promotion to League Two in 2018-2019, and honed his skills in the National League South.

He has previously worn the colours of Chelmsford City, Witham Town, Concord Rangers and East Thurrock United.
