Done deals: Napoli loan out Nosa to Empoli, Carlos swaps Basel for OGC Nice

Two players eligible to represent the Super Eagles, Kevin Carlos and Nosa Edward Obaretin, completed transfers on Monday.

French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice have confirmed the signing of Spanish-Nigerian striker Kevin Carlos on undisclosed terms.

By agreeing a permanent deal with Les Aiglons, Carlos ended his association with Swiss Super League champions FC Basel.

After spells in his country of birth Spain with Almudévar, Huesca and Real Betis, and in Switzerland with Yverdon and Basel, Carlos has joined OGC Nice with the ambition of taking his career to the next level.

The 24-year-old enjoyed a prolific campaign last season, netting 15 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.

Standing out for his physical presence, Carlos has earned a reputation as a powerful forward who presses defences tirelessly and offers a consistent attacking threat.

Meanwhile, Empoli have reached an agreement with Serie A champions Napoli  for the temporary acquisition of the registration rights of Nosa Edward Obaretin.

A product of AC Cesena and AC Milan academies, Nosa previously enjoyed loan spells at Trento and Bari.

During a loan spell with Trento, Nosa featured in 35 matches, scoring twice, and also went on to make 26 appearances for Bari.

Since completing his move to Napoli in the summer of 2022, the centre-back has yet to earn a first-team call-up.

Instead, he has been a regular for the club's Primavera side, where he has registered three goals in 35 appearances across all competitions.
