Crystal Palace loan out fifth Nigerian player after Ozoh, Goodman, Akinwale and Adaramola

Crystal Palace has announced the loan departure of 19-year-old striker of Nigerian descent Jemiah Umolu to League Two side Bromley for the 2025/26 season, according to the official website of the club.

Umolu becomes the fifth player of Nigerian heritage loaned out by the Premier League club in the summer transfer window, following  David Ozoh, Owen Goodman, Victor Akinwale and Tayo Adaramola.

Ozoh has joined Derby County on a temporary deal, while Goodman, Akinwale and Adaramola have secured loan moves to Huddersfield Town, Leyton Orient and Eastbourne Borough respectively.

Umolu, who joined Palace in July 2024, has quickly made a name for himself in South London.

The dynamic centre-forward enjoyed a prolific start with the Under-21s, netting eight goals in his first 10 appearances, including a standout hat-trick against then-Premier League 2 champions Tottenham Hotspur.

His scintillating form in November 2024 earned him a nomination for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award, emphasizing his potential as a rising star.

This loan move to Bromley represents Umolu’s second stint in League Two, having previously played a key role in Port Vale’s promotion-winning campaign last season.

Crystal Palace’s strategy of loaning out young talents like Umolu reflects their commitment to nurturing their Nigerian-descended prospects through valuable first-team experience.

Umolu has been allocated the number 19 jersey at Bromley.
