Arokodare jets out: Super Eagles striker departs Brussels for England to seal Wolves move
Published: August 31, 2025
Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare is on his way to England to complete his highly anticipated move to Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to transfer market expert Sacha Tavolieri.
The 24-year-old was spotted heading to the airport, with a flight scheduled to depart Brussels at 9:30 Belgium Time, signaling the final stage of his record-breaking transfer from Belgian club Racing Genk.
The move, reportedly valued at €27 million, is set to make Arokodare the most expensive player ever sold by Genk, surpassing the €25 million fee Sheffield United paid for Norwegian midfielder Sander Berge in 2020. ]
The transfer remains subject to a medical examination, which Arokodare is expected to undergo upon arrival in England before officially signing a five-year contract with Wolves.
Arokodare enjoyed a standout campaign in the Jupiler Pro League last season, scoring 21 goals in 40 league appearances to finish as the league’s top scorer.
His impressive form saw him attract interest from several European clubs, including Napoli, AC Milan, Fulham, and Burnley, but Wolves have successfully emerged as the club to secure his signature.
The Nigerian forward joins a growing list of internationals from Genk who have commanded high transfer fees.
Paul Onuachu moved to Southampton in 2023 for €18 million, while Wilfred Ndidi left for Leicester City in 2017 for €17.6 million.
Arokodare’s imminent switch to Molineux will place him at the top of this list, emphasizing his rising profile in European football.
Genk stand to benefit financially from the deal, while Wolves acquire a prolific striker who can bolster their attacking options in the Premier League.
The transfer represents a major step in Arokodare’s career, offering him the platform to make an immediate impact in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues.
