Confirmed: English-Hungarian-Nigerian midfielder departs Man City after nine years of service

Tri-national midfielder Michael Okeke has ended his nine-year association with Premier League giants Manchester City.

Through official channels, Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság I side Puskás Akadémia FC have announced the signing of the talented midfielder, marking the end of his spell in England.

Okeke has signed a three-year contract, keeping him at Puskás Akadémia FC until the end of the 2027-2028 season.

Although the 19-year-old has left Manchester City without making his first team debut, he was a key member of the development squad.

Born in Manchester to a Nigerian father and Hungarian mother, he began his football journey at Bolton Wanderers before securing a move to Manchester City in 2016.

He went on to lift the U18 Premier League title with the Citizens and has been part of the club's U21 squad since 2023.

He will be reunited with familiar company at Puskás Akadémia as NB III head coach Levente Babó previously managed the Hungarian U18 national team, where Okeke made his debut in 2022, before also working with him at U19 level.

Okeke has already earned seven caps for Hungary U21 national team and is currently in camp with Zoltán Szélesi’s squad as they prepare for next week's European Championship qualifier against Lithuania.
