Published: September 16, 2025
Premier League giants Arsenal have updated their squad list for the UEFA Champions League ahead of their opener against Athletic Club in Bilbao, with nine Nigeria-eligible youngsters added to List B.
Eight of the Nigerian-eligible teenagers named in Arsenal's UEFA Champions League List B are academy players, offering manager Mikel Arteta additional depth should injuries or suspensions affect his first team squad.
A player may be registered on List B if he is born on, or after, 1 January 2004 and, has since had his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year.
Players aged 16 may be submitted if they have been registered with the club for the previous two years without interruption.
Joining first team midfielder Ethan Nwaneri (18) on the list are goalkeeper Khari Ranson (18); defenders Josh Nichols (19), Cam’ron Ismail (18), Josh Ogunnaike (17) and Samuel Onyekachukwu (17); midfielder Ife Ibrahim (17); and forwards Andre Harriman-Annous (17) and Daniel Oyetunde (18).
Of the Nigerian-eligible players on Arsenal's UEFA Champions League B List, only Nwaneri has previously received a call-up for the competition.
The highly rated midfielder made his mark last season, registering two goals in seven appearances in Europe's elite tournament.
UEFA has confirmed the squad numbers for the nine Nigerian-eligible youngsters, with Nwaneri set to wear 22, Ranson 79, Nichols 48, Ismail 42, Ogunnaike 75, Onyekachukwu 77, Ibrahim 72, Annous 71 and Oyetunde 50.
Meanwhile, Oyetunde trained with Arsenal's first team at Sobha Realty Training Centre on Monday, before the squad travelled to Spain.
