Concern for Galatasaray as Osimhen misses final training session before trip to Frankfurt
Published: September 17, 2025
Galatasaray have completed their final training session at the Metin Oktay Facilities in Kemerburgaz ahead of Thursday's UEFA Champions League clash at Eintracht Frankfurt.
The session raised fresh concerns for the Turkish champions as marquee striker Victor Osimhen was absent.
Osimhen was nowhere to be seen in the nineteen training images published by Galatasaray on the official website.
The centre-forward picked up an injury during the first half of the Super Eagles' 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda and was left out of the travelling squad to Bloemfontein for the game against South Africa.
Upon his return to Turkey after the international break, he was not included in the squad for the Super Lig match against Eyüpspor.
The 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner did not take part in Galatasaray's workout on Wednesday, fueling uncertainty over his availability for the trip to Germany.
While Osimhen's absence from training suggests his participation is in doubt, the final decision is expected to be made following consultations between the technical staff and the club's medical team.
His potential absence would be a major blow for the Istanbul side, especially as he has started the season in fine form, scoring twice in his first two starts.
Osimhen has netted three goals against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, his highest tally against a single opponent in the competition.
