Confirmed: Galatasaray omit Victor Osimhen from squad to face Eintracht Frankfurt
Published: September 17, 2025
Galatasaray have left out Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from their squad to face Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in Thursday’s UEFA Champions League clash.
The Nigerian forward has yet to recover from the shin injury he sustained during Nigeria’s 1-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 AFCON qualifier in Uyo.
Osimhen picked up the knock in the first half at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium and was replaced by Cyriel Dessers.
In a post on X, the Turkish champions unveiled their 23-man squad for the trip to Germany, with Osimhen missing out on the clash at the Deutsche Bank Park.
Osimhen was absent from the team’s final training session on Wednesday morning, as confirmed by the 19 images shared on the club’s official website.
His absence is a major setback for the Turkish champions, who are determined to begin their European campaign on a strong note after last season’s struggles in the UEFA Europa League.
In that campaign, Galatasaray were eliminated in the play-off round after a 6-3 aggregate defeat to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.
Osimhen, who opened the season in fine form with goals in his first two starts, will be eager to recover swiftly from injury and play a key role in Galatasaray’s pursuit of success both domestically and in Europe this season.
