Iwobi named in Whoscored PL TOTW alongside Everton, Nottingham Forest, Spurs players
Published: September 22, 2025
Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi has been rewarded for his standout performance in the west London derby with a place in WhoScored's Premier League Team of the Week.
The Nigeria international played a decisive role as Fulham overturned a deficit to claim a 3-1 victory over Brentford at Craven Cottage on matchday five.
Iwobi drew his side level in the 38th minute, calmly finishing to cancel out Brentford’s opener.
Less than two minutes later, the Hale End Academy graduate turned provider, splitting the defence with a precise pass that Harry Wilson guided into the far corner.
The outing marked just the second time in Iwobi's decade-long Premier League career that he has both scored and assisted in the same match, the first coming against Liverpool in April 2025.
In WhoScored's 4-4-2 line-up, Iwobi joins a midfield quartet featuring Ryan Gravenberch (Liverpool), Anton Stach (Leeds United) and Iliman Ndiaye (Everton).
Martin Dúbravka (Burnley) is named in goal, with a back four of Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest), Nordi Mukiele (Sunderland), Chris Richards (Crystal Palace) and Milos Kerkez (Liverpool).
Tottenham Hotspur's Richarlison and Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike lead the attack.
Iwobi's influence was reflected in his numbers against the Bees: two shots (one on target), two key passes, two successful take-ons and a pass accuracy of 88.4 percent.
His overall rating of 8.25 was the third-highest in the Team of the Week, behind only Stach (8.50) and Gravenberch (8.48).
