TEA time: Super Eagles striker Arokodare scores first goal in Wolverhampton Wanderers colours

It was 'TEA time' at Molineux Stadium, a reference to Tolu Emmanuel Arokodare's initials, as the Super Eagles striker came off the bench to open his account for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday as they defeated Everton 2-0 in the Carabao Cup.

The 24-year-old sealed the victory in the 87th minute, finishing neatly from João Gomes’ through ball to secure Wolves’ passage into the next round.

It was a memorable moment for Arokodare, who joined the club on deadline day from Belgian side KRC Genk, where he had impressed with his powerful displays and goalscoring ability.

Since his arrival, Arokodare has been gradually integrated into Vítor Pereira’s squad.

He made his Premier League debut in Wolves’ 1-0 loss to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park  but had yet to open his account in competitive matches.

Despite featuring in Premier league games without a goal, his persistence was rewarded against Everton as he made an immediate impact from the bench.

His strike added to Marshall Munetsi’s first-half opener, ensuring Wolves advanced with a comfortable result over David Moyes' side.

The goal could prove to be a confidence booster for Arokodare as he looks to establish himself in English football and provide Wolves with an additional attacking threat in both domestic and cup competitions.
