Brighton's Nnadozie leads WSL in saves, only Man Utd and Aston Villa goalkeepers more efficient

Brighton and Hove Albion's Nigerian shot-stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been one of the standout performers in the Women's Super League this season, leading the division in total saves while ranking among the top three in save efficiency.

The Super Falcons star joined the Seagulls in the summer transfer window following the expiration of her contract with Paris F,C where she spent five years.

Her impressive displays have not gone unnoticed as she was recently nominated for the PFA WSL Fans’ Player of the Month for September after posting two clean sheets in four WSL appearances last month.

According to official website of Brighton, Nnadozie has made 22 saves so far, the most by any goalkeeper in the WSL, highlighting her importance between the sticks for Brighton.

Despite facing a barrage of shots, the Super Falcons star has maintained an impressive 85% save rate, placing her just behind Aston Villa's Sabrina D’Angelo (91%) and Manchester United's Phallon Tullis-Joyce (86%).

Her agility, sharp reflexes and commanding presence have drawn widespread praise, reinforcing her reputation as one of Africa’s top exports in European football.

Nnadozie faces arguably her toughest test since arriving in England on Sunday afternoon as Brighton take on European champions Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Nigerian international has enjoyed a remarkable year, winning the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, being named Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament, and earning a historic nomination for the inaugural Women’s Yashin Trophy,  becoming the first African goalkeeper ever recognised at the Ballon d’Or.
