Published: June 13, 2012
Former Nigeria international Emmanuel Ekwueme says he was racially abused by Raphael JÄdrzejczyk when his club LZS Piotrówka clashed with Szczakowianki Jaworzno in the III Liga last weekend.
The referee was close to the incident and promptly showed Raphael Jdrzejczyk a red card.
''During the game, one player of Szczakowianki, Raphael said to me: "You black monkey". Fortunately, the referee officiating the match heard and responded. They heard it too, the other players, both of my team, and from Szczakowianki.
''After the match one of the players of Szczakowianki apologized. But I do not intend to just leave the matter. I will report what happened even to the Silesian Football Association, which is responsible for conducting the competition, and the Football Association. I will not be offended,'' Ekwueme, who won bronze with the Super Eagles at the 2004 Afcon, told Afrykagola.pl
Ekwueme, 32, has spent 11 seasons in Poland, playing for Polonia Warszawa, Widzew Lodz, WisÅa PÅock and Znicz Pruszków.
