Gais has prematurely ended its collaboration with Peter Ijeh, despite the contract of the experienced Nigerian forward expiring in November.
''He does not have a future with Gais, and can now concentrate on what he should do next, '' says incoming sports director Jonas Lundén to Göteborgs-Posten.
Presently ranked bottom of the Allsvenskan table, it is a foregone conclusion that Gais is now relegated to Sweden's second - tier next season.
Peter Ijeh, 35, scored 2 goals in 18 appearances for the Gothenburg based outfit.
