According to our colleagues at sportinmalta.com, Nigerian forward Akanni Sunday Wasiu is no longer part of Stephen Azzopardi's plans for this season and is set to be released by Maltese club Floriana in the coming hours.
28 - year - old Wasiu was brought back to Floriana after three years. He was persuaded to rejoin the club by a particular committee member.
He was a hit with The Greens back in 2009 after he was brought to Malta by Irish Roddy Collins and found the back of the net 7 times till January. He went on to play for Changsha Ginde and Shenyang Dongjin in China.
In seven appearances in the Maltese championship this campaign, Akanni Sunday Wasiu netted twice in back-to-back games against Qormi and Mosta.
