Stephen Keshi Calls On Fans For Patience
Published: January 25, 2013
Ahead of the titanic clash against defending champions Chipolopolo of Zambia, coach Stephen is positive the Eagles can get the maximum points that will put the team in good stead to qualify for the quarter - finals of the African Cup.
''Yes, we are playing against the defending champions and we know they are very good but we also know our potentials and we are sure to come clean at the end,'' says Keshi to supersport.com.
The Eagles 1 - 1 draw against Burkina Faso in their first group game came with a huge backlash from the highly knowledgeable but critical fans and supporters. In the dying seconds of Monday's encounter, substitute Alain Traore conjured an equalizer for the Stallions.
''We have millions of coaches in Nigeria but they must understand that every national team that has achieved (big results) took time to build and they must give this Super Eagles side time to grow,'' Keshi pleaded.
It would be a reunion of sorts at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.Recall that Keshi and Kalusha Bwalya, president of the Zambia Federation played together in Belgium for Anderlecht and Cercle Brugges respectively.
