Jonathan Pitroipa Not Ruling Himself Out Of Final
Published: February 07, 2013
Burkina Faso sensation Jonathan Pitroipa has not ruled himself out of Sunday's Afcon final against Nigeria despite being sent off by referee Slim Jdidi against Ghana on Wednesday.
Pitroipa, who is unarguably the Stallions biggest attacking threat, took the walk of shame in the 117th minute after he received a second yellow card for simulation.
''The team needs me and everyone for the final. We will see if there is injustice or not. Hopefully, I play the final of the African Cup of Nations,'' Pitroipa, who is on the payroll of Onyekachi Apam's Rennes, told Algerian website lebuteur.com.
The Burkina Faso Federation has appealed to tournament's organizers CAF to rescind Pitroipa's red card.
