Ogu, Onazi Rated 50 - 50 For Kenya Clash
Published: June 03, 2013
Ahead of the titanic clash against the Harambee Stars of Kenya on Wednesday, the Super Eagles medics are sweating on the fitness of Academica midfielder John Ogu, Lazio's Eddy Onazi plus Brown Ideye of Dynamo Kiev.
The three players suffered knocks in the clash with Mexico (2 - 2) last Friday. All are rated 50 - 50 to be fielded against the Kenya National Team.
''I will find out from the team doctor but from what I saw with Brown, Onazi and Ogu, I don’t think it’s serious,'' coach Stephen Keshi was quoted as saying by the online edition of Complete Sports.
It should be noted that John Ogu, whose display against Mexico caught the eye of many, has been battling a knee injury since the start of the year.
He shunned doctor's advice to undergo major surgery in order to play at the Fifa Confederations Cup.
By the way, this portal can exclusively report that Andrew Randa, a blogger, brokered the deal that took John Ogu to Academica last summer.
