Social: What Akor Adams and Edokpolor said after scoring in Super Eagles 3-3 draw with Russia

Akor Adams and Peter Edokpolor have taken to social media to reflect on their memorable performances after scoring in Nigeria's entertaining 3-3 draw with Russia on Tuesday evening.

Captaining the Super Eagles following the substitution of Moses Simon, the former Sevilla striker salvaged a draw for the Super Eagles when he struck in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

A swift counter-attack initiated by Emmanuel Fernandez ended with Adams tapping the ball into an open net, after he was teed up by Umar Abdullahi.

Adams shared a post on Instagram on Wednesday, quoting Psalm 119:105 before reflecting on the significance of wearing the captain's armband.

"Psalm 119:105. Wearing this armband is a privilege of a lifetime!! Great show of courage from the many debutants last night, you all should be proud," Adams wrote.

Edokpolor enjoyed a dream debut, getting on the scoresheet eight minutes after he came off the bench.

With Nigeria trailing 3-1, the Benfica starlet produced a moment of individual brilliance, winning possession in the attacking third before racing towards the box and firing into the net.

His effort took a slight deflection off a Russian defender before finding the back of the net, reducing the deficit to 3-2 and breathing new life into the contest.

"Dreams become memories. A dream debut with the national team and scoring my first goal makes it even more special,” Edokpolor posted on Instagram.

"Proud, grateful, and honored to represent my country. This is only the beginning."
