Maduka Okoye will be awarded Udinese's Player of the Season for the 2025-2026 campaign at the 26th edition of the Galà del Calcio Triveneto , which will be held in Vicenza on Monday, October 12.
However, according to to Udinese Blog, the Super Eagles goalkeeper is unlikely to attend the ceremony as he is expected to be in Turin for the matchday six Serie A fixture between Torino and Udinese.
Okoye was suspended at the start of the 2025-2026 season for sporting misconduct in connection with allegations that he deliberately received a yellow card during Udinese's match against Lazio during the 2023-2024 season.
After serving his suspension, the Nigeria international continued to be Udinese's first-choice goalkeeper for the remainder of the campaign.
Last season, the former Sparta Rotterdam and Watford goalkeeper made 30 appearances in Serie A, keeping 10 clean sheets, including three consecutive shutouts against Genoa, Como and AC Milan.
Okoye was included in the Super Eagles’ matchday squads for their back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau but remained an unused substitute in both matches, with manager Eric Chelle opting to start Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
The 27-year-old has a contract with Udinese until the end of the 2027-2028 campaign.
