Michael Babatunde : I Am Pleased To Return To The Premier League
Published: August 21, 2013
Nigeria international Michael Babatunde has commented on his return to the Ukrainian Premier League.
Last weekend, Volyn officially announced the capture of the 20 - year - old free agent on undisclosed terms.
Speaking to the official website, fcvolyn.net Babatunde said : '' I am very pleased to return to the Premier League. You could say that I missed such a quality football team , because I think that the Ukrainian championship is now rapidly developing.
'' Also, glad to be back in Volyn after the problem with Kryvbas as well as participation in the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
'' I know that there is a lot of work, but I'm ready for the difficulties and attain my best condition.''
The former Heartland of Owerri left winger had wanted to be invited for September's World Cup qualifying fixture against Malawi.
But manager Stephen Keshi announced a 42 - man roster on Tuesday, but Babatunde's name was conspicuously missing.
'' In September, we will continue the qualifying tournament for the World Cup in Brazil. I'd love to get a call back to the first team of my country,'' Babatunde said on Tuesday.
'Baba' was one of the best players on the pitch when he made his debut for Volyn in the game against Karpaty on Monday.
