Super Eagles Wasted Scoring Opportunities, Says Mutiu Adepoju
Published: September 08, 2013
Despite the Super Eagles scoring two goals against the Flames of Malawi, retired Nigeria international Mutiu Adepoju, who represented the country in three World Cups, has expressed disappointment over the wasted opportunities that could have made the scoreline even bigger than the final outcome.
'' It was a nice match. The boys played fantastic football even though they were unable to utilize many of the chances that came their way.
''They should be commended because they exerted themselves but showed they are a force to reckon with,'' The Nation citing NAN quoted Mutiu Adepoju as saying.
The ex Racing Santander and Real Sociedad ace is confident Nigeria will qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but advised the team to improve their performance.
