Brendan Rodgers Assures Moses Of Liverpool Future
Published: January 13, 2014
Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has assured Nigeria winger Victor Moses he still has a future at Anfield even though he is not guaranteed a first team shirt.
Victor Moses joined the Reds on a season - long loan deal from Chelsea in the summer transfer window to get more matches under his belt ahead of the Brazil 2014 World Cup.
But the 23 - year - old has managed only 6 starts in the Premier League, with his last coming in the 1 - 3 loss to Hull City at the start of December.
“There will be no cancelling the loan. Victor and I have spoken a couple of times this week and I explained my reasons for taking him off against Oldham.
“He has been excellent since then. I have seen a real marked difference in terms of his performance.
“I’ve been pleased with his response. He has made it very clear he loves it here – despite one or two stories I’ve heard.
“I know the player and he wants to show he can help the team. He wants to show he can play games,,” Rodgers said to the Liverpool Echo.
Victor Moses made the starting lineup in the 2 - 0 FA Cup win over Oldham Athletic on January 5.
