Arsenal youth product Alebiosu joins Blackburn Rovers, subject to medical
Published: July 10, 2025
Blackburn Rovers are on the brink of completing a deal for Arsenal academy graduate Ryan Alebiosu, according to a report from The Lancashire Telegraph.
The 23-year-old right-back is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days , having already returned to the UK ahead of the proposed move.
The transfer would mark a return to English football for Alebiosu, two years after his switch to Belgian side KV Kortrijk in 2023.
Alebiosu struggled to cement a regular place at Kortrijk, largely due to a string of injuries that limited his involvement.
He featured in just 12 matches during his debut season and made 13 appearances in the first half of last season before heading out on loan to Scottish Premiership side St. Mirren in January 2025.
The loan spell in Scotland proved more fruitful, with Alebiosu making 14 appearances and notching an assist as he enjoyed a consistent run of games.
Should the deal go through, Alebiosu will become Blackburn’s third summer signing as manager Jon Dahl Tomasson seeks to bolster his squad for another push at promotion.
Rovers narrowly missed out on a Championship playoff spot last season and are looking to build a stronger, more resilient side ahead of the 2025-2026 campaign.
Born in London and of Nigerian descent, Alebiosu is no stranger to the English Football League.
He previously spent time on loan at Crewe Alexandra in League One during the 2021/22 season.
