Jordon Ibe: Forward who spent four years at Liverpool on trial at Swedish second-tier club

Swedish second tier club Umea FC have handed a trial to former Nigeria Football Federation target Jordon Ibe.

The official website of Umea FC is reporting that Ibe arrived in Sweden on Wednesday evening and had his first training session with the club on Thursday.

The former England youth international is in contention to play a test match against Sandviken on Sunday.

Ibe brings with him an impressive résumé, having turned out for Premier League sides Liverpool and Bournemouth, as well as Derby County, Wycombe Wanderers and Birmingham City.

During his four-year association with the Anfield team, he made 58 appearances across the Premier League, Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup.

He went on to feature 92 times for Bournemouth, registering five goals and nine assists in all competitions.

The 29-year-old has also worn the colours of non-league clubs Ebbsfleet, Hayes & Yeading and Hungerford Town.

Apart from Ibe, another Nigerian player Yusuf Salau is undergoing trials at Umea FC and is available for the friendly against Sandviken.

Ibe was approached by former Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh to play for the Super Eagles in September 2015, but the winger declined the opportunity, saying he was giving priority to a Three Lions call-up.

After fourteen matches in the Swedish Superettan, Umea are the bottom team with only three points.
