Nigeria Women Football League Board Commends Nasarawa Football Fans

The Board of the Nigeria Women Football League has commended the football fans in Lafia, Nasarawa State for their large support of the game.
According to the Chairman of the League Board Chief (Mrs) Dilichkwu Onyedinma, the mammoth crowd that thronged the Lafia Township stadium at the weekend to watch the NWPFL week 2 match of between the Nasarawa Amazons and Adamawa Queens was unprecedented.
“The Lafia fans have shown that that Nigerians are very passionate about Women football. We are well convinced that if the right things are done, at the right time, Nigerians would always come out to watch our teams play, especially the women teams.
“I could not believe that such large crowd in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital are so passionate about the game. The interesting thing is that they all paid their ways to watch the match.
“I really appreciate the people of Nasarawa State, and urge them not to relent in their support for the game of Women football in country”.
She promised that the Board of the Women League would look at some of its programs that would be held in Nasarawa state.
Finally, she called on Nigerians to always come out enmass to watch the game in the country “the Premier League has come to stay in Nigeria, and this would surely bring out the best in our women footballers. This weekend, our star match would be in Benin- city where Edo Queens would settle scores with Ibom Angels” she concluded.
