Ike ThankGod Sees Red As Warri Wolves Crash Out Of Confederation Cup
Published: March 30, 2014
Nigeria has only one representative left in CAF Competitions this season in the wake of Warri Wolves 2 - 1 loss to CA Bizertin on Sunday afternoon in the second leg of their second leg Confederation Cup fixture.
The Tunisians took the lead in the 6th minute through Adem Rejaïbi with their first opportunity of the game .
But the goal woke up Warri Wolves from their slumber and they took control of the game and were rightly rewarded with their own goal in the 26th minute after Kola Anubi found the back of the net through a swift counter attack.
Disaster struck when Warri Wolves reliable defender Ike ThankGod was dismissed in the 42nd minute after he committed a foul and the Sudanese official sent him off being the last man.
CA Bizertin made their numerical advantage count shortly after ThankGod’s expulsion with Adem Rejaïbi managing to give them the lead in first half stoppage time.
Both Bayelsa United and the seven other clubs that qualified for the group stage will know their foes when the draw is held in Cairo on Tuesday, April 1.
