Marco Tagbajumi : Nothing Can Stop Us Qualifying For Europe
Published: April 06, 2014
Speaking after netting a brace in Ermis’ 2 - 1 win over Anorthosis on Saturday in the Cypriot championship, Italian - Nigerian forward Marco Tagbajumi has tipped his modest club to qualify for next season’s Europa League.
25 - year - old Tagbajumi is having his breakthrough season as a professional with 15 strikes in the league this term, only 1 goal short of Apollon ace Gaston Sangoy.
“The chances of Ermis qualifying for the Europa League are very high, it is one of the targets we set earlier this year. I personally believe nothing can stop us going to Europe right now,” the forward told allnigeriasoccer.com.
With his contract set to expire at the end of next season, he sat on the fence when quizzed on whether or not he would remain in Aradippou if the club fail to meet the set target of participating in Europe.
“As for me staying in the club next year, as of now I do not know anything. What I do know is that I am very happy at the club and with the people who are in the team and around our team,” Tagbajumi added.
Born July 1, 1988 in Port Harcourt to an Italian father and Nigeria mom, Marco Tagbajumi has committed his international future to African champions, Nigeria.
