Fifa Hammer To Fall On Nigeria If NFF Board Is Not Reinstated
Published: July 05, 2014
Football governing body, Fifa, has sent a letter to the Nigeria Football Federation expressing its concern with the intervention of third parties in the running of football in the country.
Recall that the Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo, appointed Lawrence Katken to act as Secretary General of the NFF
pending the determination of a motion on notice before the court.
Fifa has insisted that the sacked Board must be reinstated on or before July 8 or the case will be transferred to the relevant arm of the Zurich based organization.
Possible sanctions include the National Team being disqualified from participating at the African Cup of Nations qualifiers which begins two months from now.
An extraordinary general meeting involving all the Chairmen of the 36 State FAs will hold today, Saturday at the Bolingo Hotel and Towers in Abuja.
