Man Utd legend blames Bassey and another Fulham player for Chelsea's first home goal of season

Chelsea are top of the Premier League table, maybe for a few hours, following a 2-0 win over Fulham in the West London derby on Saturday afternoon.
At halftime at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea had their first home goal of the season, thanks to red-hot summer signing Joao Pedro, who nodded home a corner from Enzo Fernandez.
Fulham players and supporters were left incensed when Chelsea's goal was allowed to stand following a VAR review, particularly as Josh King had earlier seen his effort ruled out midway through the half for a foul by Rodrigo Muniz on Trevor Chalobah.
Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel has criticised Fulham central defenders Calvin Bassey and Joachim Andersen for their role in Chelsea's opener at Stamford Bridge.
The former United goalkeeper analysed the moment Joao Pedro challenged Fulham shot-stopper Bernd Leno in the build-up to the goal.
"Look at it from here, if that was frozen right from the moment Joao Pedro touches the goalkeeper. Right from that moment, that would look like a foul,” Schmeichel said on Premier League Productions.
"He does really, really well. He's in there, he touches the goalkeeper, gets a little bit of momentum, but also stops Leno from coming out.
"You would say Leno probably should have come for it, but of course he couldn't”
The Dane went on to question the defending of Bassey and Andersen, who he felt failed to deal with the danger in the box.
"You have to question Bassey and Andersen there as well. How can a player jump back in between them and head the ball?"
Enzo Fernández scored from the spot in the 56th minute to double the advantage as Chelsea kept their seventh clean sheet in their last nine Premier League games at Stamford Bridge.
