36 Lion CEO,Liameed Olawale Gafar, Fuels Speculation Imoh Ezekiel May Play For Qatar
Published: August 01, 2014
36 Lion supremo, Liameed Olawale Gafar, has quickly reacted to reports that emanated from the foreign media suggesting that Imoh Ezekiel is being targeted to represent the Qatar National Team before the 2022 World Cup.
If those reports are to be taken at face value, there is an unwritten clause in the agreement between Al Arabi and Standard Liege that will see the one - cap Nigeria international pledge his international future to the Gulf nation.
“We don’t know yet, it’s too early to say. If he does well for Al Arabi and adapts just as he did at Standard Liege, then, he has a chance to play for Qatar.
“There’s protocol involved in being a citizen of a country. I heard about the rumours but I won’t say yes or no.
“I have a meeting with Al Arabi in the next three weeks to see if all they promised him have been done.
“He was promised a lot of things, and it includes taking him to Europe after a few years,” Liameed Olawale Gafar told SL10.ng.
Today, Friday, Imoh Ezekiel is expected to embark on the journey to Doha, the Qatari capital, to join his new club.
