Sunday Oliseh Pleased To Share Spoils With Tanzania
Published: September 05, 2015
Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh was delighted to share the spoils with Tanzania in his first game as Nigeria manager, and made excuses for the poor showing against the East Africans, stating that the squad did not have enough time to prepare for the game.
The 2013 African champs were on the back foot for most of the contest and the result would have been different if not for the heroics of Wolves netminder Carl Ikeme.
“We were disorganized in the first half but fared better in the second. In the second half we organized ourselves better but lacked that quality supply from midfield to attack. We will get better, ” Oliseh said to reporters in the post - match press conference.
“We have to continue to build. We barely had two good days of training before this match so I am happy with the one point.”
Adds Oliseh : “I don’t like to single out players from the team but I have to admit that Carl Ikeme had a great game for us today.”
For the time being, the Super Eagles lead the way in Group G with four points followed by Egypt, who have a game in hand.
