Will Kelechi Iheanacho Score Against Crystal Palace For Third Straight Game?
Published: January 15, 2016
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has all but confirmed that Kelechi Iheanacho is in line to make his 16th appearance for the Citizens in all competitions when they tackle Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Of the five goals the Nigerian talent has netted in English football, two came against The Eagles, in the Premier League (September 12) and the Capital One Cup (October).
“Kelechi is in the squad list – we’ll see tomorrow the starting XI. He’s a young player who is working every day with the team,” said the City coach.
“When young players have the option to play games they have to take their chances and every time Kelechi has done that and played very well.
“It’s important for him to work every day with important players. I especially think he will be an important player.”
Iheanacho’s only start in the Premier League was against Norwich City on October 31 and the teenager was substituted nine minutes out of intermission.
