Supreme Court FC Retain 14, Recruit 16 Players Ahead New Season
Published: January 19, 2016
As the kickoff of the 2016 league season draws near, Nigerian National
League campaigners Supreme Court FC of Abuja have concluded arrangement
to retain no fewer than 14 players among those with the outfit last
year.
In place of released players, about 16 new ones have been penciled as addition to the team.
Disclosing this in Abuja, General Manger of the club, Tolulope Oguntimehin said apart from measures taken to beef up the squad expected to do battle coming season, the management has expressed its readiness to adopt various means in ensuring swift operation amidst current economic realities.
He also revealed that plans are on to beef up the technical crew of the team led by Joachim Osuji to keep Premier League pursuit alive.
Last season, the club fondly known as Apex Boys missed out on promotion ticket with only few points standing in between the table toppers.
According to Oguntimehin; “While we hope to strengthen the technical crew and reach the target of playing in the Premier League , the Chief Registrar and chairman of the club Barr Gambo Saleh wants the best despite the harsh economic situation of the country.
“He believes the opportunity provided by Supreme Court will help in curbing Youths restiveness and provide jobs in line with Federal government plan.”
Already, screening has begun and new talents discovered have been exposed to several friendly matches ahead of pre-season tournament scheduled for Ijebu Ode, Ogun state towards the end of this month.
In Ijebu, Apex Boys are expected to lock horns with the likes of premier league sides Shooting Stars, Sunshine and fellow NNL team Crown fc among others.
