Tottenham Focusing On The Nigerian Market Due To Success Of Iheanacho At Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur sent one of their trusted scouts to Africa to monitor at close quarters emerging talents at the Gee-Lec Football Academy tournament organized by Nigerian intermediary Babawo Mohammed.
Highly respected scout Simon Hunt watched the three-day event that took place in Abuja and it is understood that he has recommended some of the outstanding youngsters to English Premier League teams.
When asked about the players that caught the fancy of the scouts, Babawo told allnigeriasoccer.com : “We just finished the tournament and they will send me the names of the players they are interested in when they return.
“Simon Hunt is one of the scouts that came to watch the players.”
It is understood that Tottenham Hotspur have recently started to focus much more on the Nigerian market due to the success of ex-Golden Eaglets star Kelechi Iheanacho at Manchester City.
The White Hart Lane outfit had agreed a pre-contract with Nigeria youth international Musa Yahaya after the Fifa Under 17 World Cup staged in the United Arab Emirates.
