Published: March 17, 2016
Nigeria Under 20 international Chidiebere Nwakali is on the verge of completing a loan move to IK Start from Premiership giants Manchester City, the Norwegian Tippeligaen side have officially reported.
After attaining the age of majority, the defensive midfielder failed to secure a work permit that will enable him play in England and was subsequently shipped out on loan by the Etihad outfit to Malaga before joining another Spanish club Girona last summer.
“I think it will be a good experience for me , I can see that people here are good people so I am here to give my best,” Nwakali told IK Start’s official webpage.
“I am a box to box midfielder , I am good at winning the ball and creating chances.
“I do not know much about the Norwegian league, but I know it’s a good place to start for young players . Here you get the chance to play and gain experience.”
If Nwakali’s paperwork is completed, he will join Nigerian player Uduak Idemokon at IK Start for the remainder of the 2016 season.
The 19-year-old has already started training with the Sør Arena outfit.
