Valencia Make New Move For Chelsea Midfielder Obi Mikel
Published: April 21, 2016
Allnigerasoccer.com understands that La Liga side Valencia have revived their interest in Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel, 28.
Los Murciélagos were linked with a move for the Chelsea midfielder two years ago but could not wrap up a deal presumably because of his high transfer fees thought to be around 15 million euros as at that time.
And money could still be the major stumbling block again, with Valencia quoted five million euros yearly wages for the Nigeria star by the intermediary involved in negotiations.
Valencia suits have stated that they will make a decision whether or not to acquire Obi Mikel at the end of this season but have made it crystal clear that they can’t afford his wages.
Mikel, who has been offered a new deal by Chelsea which is yet to be signed, is also attracting interest from China.
