Former Nigeria international Onyekachi Okonkwo will not be renewing his contract with Maltese Premier League club Mosta, according to his agent, Italian-based intermediary Ben Itorho.
The midfielder is still in the Island Nation but will return to Nigeria before the end of this month to concentrate on his new business venture, Nino Hotel and Lounge which was officially opened on Saturday, May 7.
“Tico is not extending his contract with Mosta, he is not around now because his career is more important than his business, he will do a bigger occasion when he returns to Nigeria this month,” said Itorho to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Tico is the Ronaldinho of Nigerian football, he is showing an example by investing in his future and in his country.
“He will be in Nigeria before the 31st, he is doing the best lounge in the Island.”
Onyekachi Okonkwo made his name at Enyimba and Orlando Pirates before joining teams in Switzerland and Qatar.
