Flying Eagles Winger Samuel Chukwueze Misses Out On 800,000 Euros Move To Fiorentina
Published: May 16, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Flying Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has missed out on a dream move to Fiorentina, with Diamond Academy turning down an 800,000 euros bid from the Italian Serie A outfit.
Representatives of the Viola were impressed with the ex-Golden Eaglets star at the Fifa Under 17 World Cup and made contact with his camp after the Nigeria U17s thrashed Australia 6-0.
After the competition in Chile, Diamond Academy had given their consent to the transfer but later pulled the plug on a potential deal when Fiorentina reps arrived Nigeria to conclude talks, claiming that they had a better offer from another European team (thought to be Arsenal).
The two-time Serie A champions were willing to offer Samuel Chukwueze a four-year contract when he clocks 18 next year, and would have paid his transfer fee in three tranches.
The first tranche of payment would have been €400,000, when he pens the preliminary contract, while the balance was to be paid in two equal installments in January 2017 and next summer when his International Transfer Certificate would have been received.
The exciting winger trained with Arsenal early this year but it is understood that the Gunners could not agree terms with his academy.
Chukwueze was also courted by Juventus after the tourney in South America but had preferred a move to the Emirates.
