Iheanacho Earns 20,000 Pounds Per Week; Had Demanded 70,000 Pounds-A-Week Gross From Manchester City
Published: May 17, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com can reiterate that Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho is yet to kickoff contract talks with Manchester City, amid reports in the media that he demanded 150,000 - 200,000 pounds a week before penning a new deal, which is beyond comprehension.
Manchester City are aware of the ongoing dispute between two rival agents and have professionally put all contract negotiations on hold to avoid litigation from an aggrieved party.
At the start of the 2015 - 2016 season, Iheanacho pocketed £20,000-a-week if the wages taxed is not included in the mix and was supposed to pen fresh terms after activating a clause in his contract, based on the number of appearances for City’s first team.
Between August and September 2015, talks were at an advanced stage between the Citizens suits and the intermediary that brokered the deal that took him to the Etihad, with the striker set to pen a new deal that would have seen him earn £70,000 gross every week.
Kelechi Iheanacho’s kit deal with Nike was to be reevaluated as well after breaking into Manchester City’s first team but the American company ended negotiations after the player signed a representation agreement with another agent.
Manchester City were impressed with the teenager after his promotion to the main squad and rejected overtures from Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth and Sunderland, who were seeking to sign him on loan until the end of the 2015-2016 season.
