Agent That Tried To Influence Golden Eaglets Screening Manages Manu Garba; Related To Coach
Published: June 21, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com can reveal that agent Babawo Mohammed and Izul Arab are the two main protagonists that attempted to influence the selection of players in the current Golden Eaglets squad until they were stopped in their tracks by eagle-eyed Nigeria Football Federation officials led by Robinson Okosun.
Before joining the big league, Babawo was a struggling agent trying to make ends meet until he met Izul who set up Gee-lec Football Academy, the Jos-based nursery team the two individuals use to transfer players to Europe.
Nigeria U17s coach Manu Garba was one of the most straightforward coaches in this country, if not the most honest, but he allowed himself to be influenced in a wrong way by Babawo Mohammed.
Shortly after the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup, Emmanuel Amuneke, now coach of the Flying Eagles, invited Manu to his housewarming ceremony, and Babawo later chastised him for not owning a house like Amuneke’s, telling hm not to be holy and that he should gain as much as possible from handing the junior national teams just as his fellow coaches are doing.
Unknown to most individuals, Babawo Mohammed was born and bred in Jos but hails from Gombe State, the same state as Manu Garba and investigations conducted by this website reveal that both are long distance relatives.
Manu Garba erred by not informing his employers, the Nigeria Football Federation, that Babawo Mohammed acts as his agent to this day, and stands to gain financially from the transfer of Golden Eaglets players recommended by his associate.
The Jos-based intermediary recently completed a duplex in Jos, and was able to build the house from the sale of national team players in conjunction with Manu Garba, and has a car selling business on the side.
The activities of Manu Garba are in the public domain now but they are really stale news to the Nigeria Football Federation, with Chairman of the technical committee, Chris Green, informing him to return all the monies he collected from agents as bribe or face the music during a recent training session.
Also, the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup-winning manager was being investigated by the NFF Technical Director Amodu Shuaibu until he passed away.
The Nigeria Football Federation supremo Amaju Pinnick and Chris Green are still deliberating whether to relieve Manu of his appointment because of these very obvious sharp practices.
