Arsenal Striker Akpom Delighted To Get Game Time Against Lens
Published: July 23, 2016
Nigerian striker Chuba Akpom was delighted to be involved in Arsenal’s first pre-season fixture on Friday.
The England U21 international spent the whole of last season on loan at Hull City as a result of his lack of first team opportunities at the Emirates, and helped the Tigers secure promotion to the Premier League.
Against Lens, he was lively though he failed to cap off a fine individual performance with a goal before he subbed out at the start of the second half.
The Arsenal number 32 commented on Twitter : “Good to get 45 minutes under my belt in our first pre-season match ✅ #AFC.”
Akpom, 20, has been on the books of Arsenal for more than a decade and has enjoyed loan spells at Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest in addition to his stint at the KC Stadium.
