Sheyi Ojo Thanks Sturridge For Helping Him Settle Into Liverpool First Team
Published: July 29, 2016
Sheyi Ojo has praised England star Daniel Sturridge for helping him settle into the first team of Liverpool, and hopes to impress manager Jurgen Klopp in the new season.
In the second half of last season, the young winger was recalled from his loan spell at Wolves, and went on to make eight appearances for the Reds in the Premier League, logging 396 minutes in the process.
“It’s a hard one. I get along with everyone, [though] I’d probably say Daniel Sturridge has been really supportive since I came into the team, ” Ojo told the official website of Liverpool.
“But everyone is supportive, it’s a great team to be with.
“My main focus is just to keep working hard, to keep my head down, and if I get more opportunities hopefully I can impress the manager. ”
The 19-year-old Ojo, who starred for England at the U19 Euros, was a second half substitute in Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Chelsea in Pasadena.
