Arsenal Midfielder Iwobi Claims His Food Was Deliberately Tampered With In Nigeria
Published: August 06, 2016
Viking’s Nigerian midfielder Usman Sale has sensationally revealed that Arsenal attacking midfielder Alex Iwobi told him someone deliberately tampered with his food while on international duty with the Super Eagles in March.
The two 20-year-olds were in action for their respective teams on Friday night in Arsenal’s 8-0 rout of Viking, and had a
heart-to-heart talk about Iwobi’s involvement with the Nigeria set-up at the end of the game.
“I exchanged jerseys with Iwobi after the game, we discussed about life and Nigeria, ” said Usman Sale to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“He said some people deliberately tampered with his food while he was in Nigeria for the Egypt game, and he was rushed to the hospital.
“Iwobi is a very good player, he has a good technique to shoot and he can position himself very well. ”
Sale explained that Viking conceded seven goals in the second half because manager Jonevret substituted nine first team players before the start of the second half, with an eye on the Tippeligaen clash with Sogndal on Sunday.
“You know it was a friendly, we played with the first team in the first half, before the second half started nine players were changed.
“We have a game in the league tomorrow. I am not happy with the result, ” he concluded.
Viking’s number 25, Usman Sale, has made three appearances in the Norwegian topflight in the ongoing campaign.
