Why Ex-Nigeria U23 Skipper Has Yet To Debut For Greuther Furth
Published: September 28, 2016
Former Nigeria U23 skipper Erhun Obanor has yet to make his competitive debut for German 2 Bundesliga club Greuther Furth approximately three weeks after his arrival in Bavaria.
The defender has missed four games in the second-tier against Fortuna Düsseldorf, Würzburger Kickers, Nürnberg and Sandhausen because he has not been granted a work permit by the German authorities.
“Obanor cannot play for Greuther Furth now until he gets his work permit, they told him the document will be ready in two weeks time, ” a source close to Obanor told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“He was provided with an apartment last week Tuesday and they said they will mail the work permit to that address. ”
The BJ Foundation product has committed his future to Greuther Furth until the summer of 2019, with an additional two seasons inserted into the agreement between club and player.
