Godfrey Oboabona Dismisses Lies: I Did Not Argue With Super Eagles Coach
Published: September 30, 2016
Rizespor stopper Godfrey Oboabona has moved quickly to dismiss lies published by a Nigerian blog notorious for fabricating stories that he was dropped from the Super Eagles squad after an argument with one of the assistant coaches.
The central defender has made it crystal clear that he has never argued with a national team coach, and was surprised by the intention of the football blog.
“It is not true I was dropped from the Super Eagles because I argued with one of the assistant coaches, ” said Oboabona to allnigeriasoccer.com.
“I have never argued with any coach in my life and I will never do that, I do not argue with coaches both national team and clubs.”
It is correct that the former Sunshine Stars skipper has been omitted from a 23-man squad summoned for the upcoming qualifier against Zambia but bears no grudges, and has tipped his international teammates to secure maximum points in Ndola.
Oboabona added : “It is a very important game for us. We will have to make sure we do our best to come out with flying colours.”
