Nigeria U17 Skipper : We Are Not Afraid, They Are Girls Like Us
Published: October 01, 2016
FC Robo sensation Rasheedat Ajibade has spoken of the Nigerian Under 17 Women’s National Team’s readiness for the World Cup ahead of the opener against Brazil.
The best Nigeria has achieved in previous editions of the competition is qualifying for the quarterfinals but the Flamingoes skipper is confident that they can surpass that record in Jordan.
“We want to make a statement for ourselves and the nation. There is no need to be afraid of them because we have been in camp for a very long time, ” said Ajibade to thenff.com.
“Being in a camp for a very long time, all the training, all the efforts of the coaches and what we have undergone in the camp, there is nothing to be afraid of.
“They are ladies like us, they are girls like us, we are ready and confident of ourselves. ”
Rasheedat Ajibade scored eight goals during the African qualifying race for the World Cup to emerge joint-top scorer, alongside Egypt ace Noha Tarek.
