Super Eagles-Plateau Utd : Ex-NPFL Top Scorer Aneke Benched; Mikel, Onazi Ready To Face Old Team
Published: October 05, 2016
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Plateau United manager has announced his starting line-up ahead of Wednesday afternoon’s friendly game against the Super Eagles in Abuja.
Isa Danladi is preferred in goal ahead of Ayo Segun; Jimmy Ambrose, Kelechi John, Solomon Junior and Hamisu Sale are the defenders.
The midfield consists of Lazarus Fan, Benjamin Turba and Bright Silas, while John Kim, Anayo Ogbonna and Sunday Nigbede will lead their charge for goals.
Plateau United’s Nigeria international Godwin Obaje is currently sidelined with injury and was not in the traveling party to Abuja.
It would be an emotional game for Super Eagles skipper John Obi Mikel and Trabzonspor midfielder Eddy Onazi if they are selected to play against Plateau United.
While Mikel was on the books of Plateau United before he joined Lyn Oslo, Onazi trained with Plateau United for few months but was not offered a contract.
Plateau United Starting XI : Isah, John, Ambrose, Lazarus, Solomon, Sale, Silas, Turba, Kim, Ogbonna, Nigbede
Substitutes : Ayo Segun, Jude Aneke, Obadiah, Lenkat, Reuben Bala, Ibe Johnson, Kabiru Umar
