Ogu Reacts To Super Eagles Coach Statements : It Is Disrespectful Comparing Me To Nosa
Published: October 08, 2016
John Ogu has reacted to statements allegedly credited to Super Eagles coach Rohr in which he stated that Maccabi Tel Aviv midfielder Nosa Igiebor is superior to the Hapoel Beer Sheva ace.
Taking the statements of Gernot Rohr hook, line and sinker, the German manager explained that Ogu was not invited for the World Cup qualifier against Zambia because he didn’t measure up to Nosa in standard.
With an eye on an invitation to the Super Eagles in the near future, the former Almeria man has resisted any attempt to compare him to the Yellows number 40.
In a series of tweets, Ogu said : “So I got informed from Israel that they are comparing me and Nosa Igiebor just because he got called up and I am not there.
“Firstly,it is disrespecting Comparing me to him.I have so much respect for Nosa and he is a fantastic footballer who is doing well.
“I give 100% in each and every game, and like every player I want to contribute also to my National team”
Ogu, 28, was named best foreign player in the Israeli top-flight last season after helping Hapoel Beer Sheva win the title, and has not scored a goal in the league for close to six months.
