Published: October 19, 2016
Scouts representing Manchester City, Watford, Chievo Verona, Atalanta and Rennes witnessed the Slovenia top-flight match between the two top teams Olimpija and Maribor at the Stadion Stožice (Ljubljana) on Saturday.
Former Nigeria U23 hopeful Blessing Eleke started the game for the league leaders, and has revealed that he did not have any contact with the aforementioned scouts before and after the game.
“Nobody told me the scouts from those teams were coming to watch us, I didn’t speak with anybody after the game,” Eleke told allnigeriasoccer.com.
“Of course, it is nice to be watched by those teams, it shows we are making progress. I want to move from here to a higher place. ”
Asked why he was substituted before the start of the second half, Eleke answered : “I was feeling pains, so the coach told me to rest and I had to go out. It was a tactical substitution, I am okay now. ”
This website can exclusively report that Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray have scouted Eleke several times this season, with a view to a transfer in the winter transfer market.
This season, the Flying Sport Academy product has netted three goals in twelve appearances in the league.
